Sabyasachi Gorai, popularly known as Chef Saby is an Indian celebrity chef. He owns and runs a boutique hospitality consultancy company called ‘Fabrica by Chef Saby,’ out of New Delhi, India.

He is also a Consultant Chef with the Olive Culinary Academy. He hails from Asansol in West Bengal where he has been largely brought up by his father. Chef Saby, an art graduate, began his career in hotel management and was soon entranced by the kitchen where he saw his creativity and art begin to take shape.

A teacher, food-show-judge, hospitality consultant, tv show host; he plays many roles, but the role he cherishes the most is that one of Chef since food is his love and cooking, a passion. He treats the plate as a canvas and In his words: “I like playing with textures and colours and would never make a dish look the same next time, so I had to request my staff to take pictures the plating, for continuity.”

Sabyasachi is inspired by internationally acclaimed chefs like Charlie Trotter, and has trained under the famous, Chef P. Soundararajan who groomed him for his culinary career. He also undertook specialized Chef’s Courses from Pastry School in Paris, Culinary school in USA and Pasta Academy in Italy to name a few.

His latest brainchild Lavaash by Saby in Delhi is an ode to Armenian cuisine. Endless list of achievements and milestones make him for a passionate chef and a par excellence mentor.

Today, Sabyasachi is a brand in himself and has received ‘India’s Best Chef Award’ from the President of India amongst numerous other recognitions and awards.
