The founding chef of Kewpie’s, the popular home-restaurant in Kolkata, Pia started cooking at a very young age, encouraged by her mum and her grandmum to keep her busy and out of trouble. Soon Pia made a name as a master pastry chef across Kolkata. She started her career in cooking with a small bakery which she opened very near to one of the city’s best known bakeries, Flurys and gave them a run for their money. Post completion of her studies (majored in Food & Nutrition), Pia moved to Mumbai and worked with MAFCO, from where she made a career in food processing and export of agro products. Pia has travelled widely and has gained an international food experience.
Pia now runs a bakery in Bandra and supplies cakes and biskut to Nature’s Basket and makes speciality items on order. She is famous for her éclairs.
