Laai xaak kath alu salad

Ingredients

  • 300 gms Kaath Alu (yam) cut into thin slices.
  • 100 gms fresh Laai Xaak (Mustard green leaves)
  • 2 tspn kasundi (mustard sauce)
  • 2 tspn sweet tamarind sauce
  • 1 tspn turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable Oil for frying

  Prep: 30 min                    Cook: 10 min                          Ready In: 40 min

Method

  • Apply the turmeric and salt on the yam slices.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Fry the kaath alu slices till it becomes golden brown and crispy.
  • Arrange a layer of fresh laai xaak on a plate.
  • Arrange a layer of fried kaath alu slices over the laai xaak.
  • Drizzle the kasundi and tamarind sauce on the kaath alu and laai xaak layers. Salad palate is ready to serve.
