Black Gram fritters (Maathi Mah Bor)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup black gram soaked in water overnight
  • half cup rice flour
  • 5 tbsp finely grated fresh Taro
  • 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil to fry

  Prep: 3 hr 0 min                    Cook: 30 min                          Ready In: 3 hr 30 min

Method

  • Make a paste of black grams. Add rice flour in it and mix well. A dash of water can be added to get the right consistency.
  • Rest the mixture for 2 hrs.
  • Now add grated taro ginger and salt in the black gram and rice flour mixture. Give it a gentle mix. Batter is ready.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and drop spoonfuls of the batter in the oil.
  • Fry the fritters in oil till golden and crisp.
  • Drain the fritters on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  • Serve the fritters with tender bamboo shoot, mango pickle and onion dip.
