Born and brought up in Guwahati, the main hub of north east region. I was exposed to different cuisines from various regions from my early years, by my mother who is a great cook herself.

I was always a foodie but started to delve in the kitchen only after my marriage. After completing my Masters in English from Guwahati University I worked in the service sector for 10 years, this left very little time to pursue my passion for food.

However, after becoming a mother I quit my career and now am a full time homemaker. This allowed me to experiment and be creative in the kitchen. Everyday I would look forward to trying out an interesting recipe or coming up with my own.

My family has been very supportive and also my most honest critics. My children, especially my daughter are foodies. Her love of trying different dishes and cuisines, encouraged me further to try my hand at different cuisines and experimenting with food became my habit.

I learnt the nuances of Assamese cooking from my mother. She taught me about the different types of cooking techniques involved in Assamese traditional food and how to utilise local produce.

I have participated in many food competitions and also won some of them.
