Aaloo Wadiyan

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Kg potatos, cut into 4 slices each
  • 1/2 Kg tomatoes
  • 3-4 pieces of chopped onions
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp dhaniya powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • salt to taste
  • 6 pcs Wadi

  Prep: 15 min                    Cook: 25 min                          Ready In: 40 min

Method

  • Boil the tomatoes and make a paste or puree.
  • Cook the onions in ghee and add the ginger, garlic, dhaniya powder, red chilli and salt and cook till the onions change color.
  • Add tomato paste and cook for a few mins.
  • Add raw potatoes and let it cook on low heat till for a few minutes till they absorb the spices. Then add hot water , depending on the amount of gravy you want and cook till potatoes about 75 percent done.
  • While the potatoes are cooking, in another pan, heat ghee and fry wadis. Keep these aside to cool a little.
  • Once the potatoes are at 75 percent, add the wadis and continue to cook on low heat till the potatoes are completely cooked.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
