Constructed in late 18th century the Castle (Garh) of Jhalamand is situated on the outskirts of Jodhpur on the Udaipur – Ahmedabad highway, surrounded by village Jhalamand.
The family belongs to the Sisodia clan of Mewar (Udaipur) and shifted to Marwar (Jodhpur) in mid 18th century. They are the descendents of the famous warrior Maharana Pratap of Chittor Garh (Mewar). The Jagir of Jhalamand was granted to Thakur Gambhir Singhji Sahib for outstanding services rendered to the Jodhpur state.
